In common with
all polyurethane casting tapes, Dugcast+, should be applied with
caution on fresh fractures where swelling of the injured limb may
be anticipated, which could make rapid removal of the cast necessary
APPLICATION
TECHNIQUES
- Apply stockinette
under cast padding.
- Wear gloves
to prevent skin contact with resin.
- Open only
one bandage at a time.
- Immerse roll
for 2 to 5 seconds in lukewarm water (70º to 75º F).Squeeze
bandage two to four times during immersion to wet throughout.Shake
excess water; do not squeeze dry.
- When applying,
overlap the bandage by 1/2 of its width.
- Molding time
is 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the immersion technique.
- Weight-bearing
rigidity is achieved in 50 minutes for most applications.
